Day 7 - Favorite anime couple

1. (the obvious) Lelouch and C.C. from Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

It is not stated officially that they are together, there have just been some implications here and there, and they just acted like a couple in a few scenes. I mean, why else would you see Lelouch carrying C.C. like that in the picture above eh? ^ One might argue that they have a very strong bond of companionship, but really, C.C. has kissed Lelouch twice already, they've seen each other naked in each other's minds (follow the story). She understands Lelouch's goals and intentions. He allows her to assist him in more ways than one.

(the famous depiction of their first "kiss" in season 1)

(Look at Lelouch having his hands over her like some protective BAMF.)

SO FUCK THE WRITERS, Lelouch and C.C. are a couple I say! ;)

2. Athrun and Cagalli from Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny

My one true pairing in the series. I absolutely loathe the fact that the director made Athrun a babe magnet in the sequel (Lunamaria, Meer Campbell, Meyrin....) BUT NO. Athrun and Cagalli for me. Opposite attraction works its magic in their relationship. Athrun's quiet, reserved, stoic, while Cagalli's a loud, tomboy-ish princess.

There's been signs that their relationship was waning towards the end of Seed Destiny... and that dumbass director Fukuda showed more interest in developing Athrun and Meyrin together... thus the pictures started to show Athrun and Cagalli's estrangement from each other, like this :(

I refuse to believe that they only defined their "love" as mere "affection." AsuCaga forever!

3. (Yay for a yaoi pairing!) Tamaki and Kyouya from Ouran High School Host Club

One defining feature about reverse harem animes is how an annoying female character gets a bunch of boys vying for her attention. Haruhi annoys me with her naivety. Hello, you're 17 and you can't figure out your romantic feelings for boys? Do you even have hormones?? Ugh ugh ugh. Hate her. Thankfully, Tamaki and Kyouya have such overwhelming bromance throughout the series, it is hard for an intrigued fangirl like me to look away. They were even nicknamed "Father" and "Mother" in the Host Club - with Tamaki as the dad and Kyouya, the mom. Tamaki is president after all, and Kyouya, vice.

And then images (more like, fanart) like this started to become viral in cyberspace...

and...

and finally...

Day 6 - Most annoying anime character

Suzumiya Haruhi  from The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi

Yup, I'm going against the flow here. She is quite a hit among the fans of the anime (for reasons I am sure I could not comprehend) but I am annoyed by her ever since I started watching the show; GREATLY.

She's loud, obnoxious, has an over-the-top attitude, pushy, imposing, and I find that her seiyuu's voice is just as annoying as she is - high-pitched voices are almost never likable in my books.

So yeah, I guess you could say I dislike her for the same reason her fans love her. Meh.

A runner-up to win this "title" would be Marina Ismail from Gundam 00

To put things simply (and bluntly), she could be one of the most useless female leads in the history of anime!

Kalafina - To The Beginning [2012.04.19]

I'm beyond ecstatic! I've loved this song ever since I first heard it in Fate/Zero's second opening. Very addicted to it, it's playing on loop on my iTunes now as I type!

Day 5 - Anime character you feel you are most like (or wish you were)

Irisviel von Einzbern from Fate/Zero.

(Type-Moon artwork)

Well, I have my personal reasons why I WISH I COULD BE LIKE HER, too personal to put it up in cyberspace so I'll just leave her picture here.

Day 4 - Anime you’re ashamed you enjoyed

Damekkou Doubutsu (meaning: Useless Animals)

I shall just post what I posted in my previous blog about it:

That's from Damekkou Doubutsu btw. Its a 26-ep anime with useless BUT ridiculously cute animals! I finished this whole series in just 2 hours and a half today. And if you're wondering WTF, one episode is merely 5 minutes. YES. 5 minutes.

I wub ze wabbit lol.

Seiyuus of angsty/emo characters such as Tyki Mikk, Sasuke Uchiha, Tieria Erde and Raki are in it, totally transformed into cute animals for your childish pleasure.

Seriously, go watch it.

Day 3 - Your anime crush

Hmm, now whom shall I start with in this diverse harem of mine...? (cackles) I shall just name the first 5 ;)

1. Athrun Zala from Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny.

I guess if you were to state it officially, Athrun's my number one anime crush. Looking hot shirtless aside, he is an amazing character. Compared to his friend of a rival (or rival of a friend) Kira Yamato, Athrun is extremely human. He makes mistakes, he gets confused, but he is a benovelent individual who is firm in his beliefs. Kira, on the other hand, was created to godly perfection (literally) in Gundam Seed Destiny, and that annoyed the heck out of me.

2. Yzak Jule from Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny.

A temperamental, hot-blooded youth. I find him particularly fascinating because he was the first personification of a "bishounen" (literal translation: beautiful male) I had encountered in my early years of anime exposure, yet there is nothing effeminate about him despite his bishounen look. Was a rival of Athrun, but currently a staunchly loyal friend.

3. Lelouch Vi Britannia from Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

If I keep harping on about how amazing and twisted and noble Lelouch is, you will never hear the end of it. Besides, you'd already know ;)

4. Tsukimori Len from La Corda D'Oro.

A good-looking, sullen, broody boy who is talented in playing the violin. What's not to love? Besides, deep down, he truly cares about that annoying whiny brat of a main character Kahoko. How I wish I could replace her with ME!

5. Kuran Kaname from Vampire Knight.

A pure-blooded vampire sex god. He's stoic and calm, but possesses a dark side beneath that kind facade. And there is always, ALWAYS something very enticing about that fact, one that draws girls into his considerably huge fanbase. (P.S. Manga is 100% better than the anime.)

Day 2 - Favorite anime you’ve watched so far

There are many, but the most prominent one would be Code Geass (2006).

If you're in my immediate social circle, I need not emphasize more on how Lelouch Vi Britannia is, to date, my number one favourite anime character.

Code Geass follows the story of Lelouch, a high school student, who was in fact, a banished prince from the Britannian empire. This cruel act of his father made him harbour a grudge & a desire for revenge against the entire royal family. One day, he stumbles upon a mysterious girl who bestowed him with the power of Geass, a power that makes anyone obey the user's orders. With this power, he vowed to lead a rebellion and destroy the Britannian empire once and for all.

A brilliant series filled with wit, tragedy, twists and teenage angst. Highly recommended!

Day 1 - Very first anime

Gundam Seed.

I have my best friend Michelle to thank for for introducing this anime to me. I could still recall back then in 2005, how she was obsessed with the Athrun and Cagalli pairing, and urged me to watch the show. Needless to say, that was the first time I was sucked into the world of anime and I loved it! No regrets!

My answer to the infamous choice question - Kira or Athrun? The latter, obviously.
